Lumas proposal – “Alpine Minimalism”
Black & White series
This series started with a simple idea ā I wanted to see what happens when you strip the alpine landscape down to its essentials.
The mountain, the snow, the silence⦠and then suddenly, one small figure cutting across the frame. That contrast fascinates me.
Iāve always been drawn to open spaces and to the feeling of being small in them. In these photos, skiers and snowboarders appear almost like moving dots ā sometimes abstract, sometimes barely there ā surrounded by a landscape that swallows sound and scale.
Itās not about the action or the sport, but the feeling of moving through vastness.
I shot this all in black and white to keep things clean and focused. No distractions ā just shape, rhythm, and space. The lines from lifts or gates, the curve of a slope, the trace left in the snow ā those are the elements I was chasing.
Thereās something peaceful about that emptiness. And at the same time, every movement becomes more meaningful. Thatās what I wanted to capture ā the quiet tension between stillness and motion, between presence and absence.
